DOUG HECKMAN, an Omaha resident and fiction writer, is a graduate of the United
States Air Force Academy (BS, English), San Jose State University (MA, English), and the
University of Washington (MFA, Creative Writing). His short stories and essays have
appeared in Eleventh Hour Productions; Jack Straw Productions; War, Literature, and the Arts,
Powder Magazine; Beloit Fiction Journal; Other Voices; Weber Studies; Seedhouse; and
Beyond Bread. He is also the author of two unpublished novels entitled
Traveler's Advisory and Reunion. In his spare time, Heckman enjoys skiing
and tutoring underprivileged youth.
