Fiction writer CHAUNA CRAIG
earned a PhD from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She has taught at the University of
Arkansas Monticello and is now a professor of creative writing and Director of Women’s
Studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is the author, with Liz Ahl of
Time is Thirsty (Ultima Obscura, 1997).
Her fiction and nonfiction has appeared in Ascent, Fourth Genre, Quarterly West, Passages
North, Connecticut Review, Prairie Schooner, and elsewhere. Her fiction has been awarded
an Honorable Mention in the Pushcart Prize anthology, and her nonfiction was a
Notable Essay in Best American Essays 2005. She has received scholarships and
fellowships to the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, Vermont Studio Center, and the
Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Her academic specialties are prose writing
(fiction and creative nonfiction), contemporary literature, and gender theory/literature.
