Well, we've had two months of love, that is, two months of Ted Kooser's valentines, and
while that's a delightful and soul-stirring thing, maybe it's time for a little mayhem in
the form of Sean Doolittle's Rain Dogs. Poor Tom Coleman. All he's looking for is
a little peace and quiet, when all hell breaks loose. No less a writer than the divine Dennis
Lehane, author of Mystic River, has said,
"As long as there are writers like Sean Doolittle out there, American crime fiction has got a sterling future ahead of it. Rain Dogs is tense, evocative ... A terrific novel."
And the great George Pelecanos, author of Drama City, says,
"Sean Doolittle is a young writer with serious chops. With Rain Dogs he brings it strong."
Rain Dogs is smart, funny, and tough.
It's like April in Nebraska the hard rain has come.
Wear a helmet.
