PRESENTATIONS

Guidelines

Students in this course may be required to make individual and/or group presentations. Presenters will be responsible for researching facts, background and context relevant to the assigned topic and reporting their findings to the class. Research can include library as well as Internet and other sources. Presentations should also offer personal, original commentary. The different tasks and aspects of the presentation may be divided among the presenters in any fashion conducive to a well-organized, coherent and thorough overall exposition. All information presented must be relevant to the understanding of the assigned topic. Highly encouraged is the use of audiovisual materials (pictures, slides, videotapes, audio recordings, computer presentations, web pages, etc) as well as creative work by the presenters such as skits, games, readings, performances, art work, etc. In general, students should strive to deliver clear, well-developed, lively, creative, entertaining, and interesting presentations. Each student in a presenting group should plan to speak for a minimum of 5-10 minutes. Additional time may be used in other relevant activities. A group presentation may take up to a maximum of one hour.
