Course Information

ENG 150: Rhetoric and Composition

English 150 is the cornerstone writing course offered at Creighton. Here, students learn what it means to compose at the college level. We prioritize the practice and understanding of writing as a moral act, a rhetorical act which takes place in public and yet must maintain the integrity of the writer's personal and professional voice. In both traditional and online versions, students in English 150 get a thorough grounding in the elements of effective composition.

ENG 251: Advanced Composition

The advanced composition course aims to focus on special topics or advanced writing skills. English 251 takes a variety of forms. Sections might concentrate on research skills, writing across disciplines, media and popular culture, the personal essay, technological developments, and other possibilities, all at the discretion of the instructor. Prerequisite: English 150.

ENG 315: Technical and Professional Writing

English 315 is Creighton's inaugural technical writing course, and it is the basis for our technical writing certificate. Meant to teach the forms and structures of writing in and about one's profession, English 315 is ideally suited for graduating senior, juniors, and business majors. Enrollment is limited. Prerequisite: English 150 or permission of the instructor.
