TONI VISSAGE sweeney
was born in Macon, Georgia, but spent 30 years of her adult life in Nebraska.
A graduate of Mercer University, with a degree in Art, English Literature, Music,
and Drama, she began writing while working as secretary to the Chairman of the English
Department there. After a severely incapacitating automobile accident in 1970, she found
herself a single parent with a child to raise and since her meager funds made no
allowances for purchasing books to read, she began to write her own. One day, an
acquaintance dared her to send one to a publisher. She did, and though it was rejected,
that set the ball rolling. At this date, six of those early novels have been published
and three of those have been made into audio books, also. Although Toni's preferred
genre is horror/science fiction, she wrote two Westerns, Walk the Shadow Trail and
Vengeance from Eden, which are set in Nebraska and were written during the 125th
anniversary of Nebraska Statehood. She also writes romances under the pseudonym
Icy Snow Blackstone, which was her great-great-great-great-grandmother's name.
Many of her books are listed on amazon.com and lulu.com, and she also has nine
short stories featured on Amazon Shorts, a section of amazon.com where stories
can be downloaded to computer or hand-helds. A grandmother of two, Toni currently
resides in Orange County, California, where she is associated with the South Coast
