Bang the table! Beat the drum! Omaha fiction writer David Philip Mullins has won the Mary McCarthy Prize in Short Fiction for 2009.
Mullins' winning manuscript,
True Love vs the Cigar Store Indian, is a novel-in-stories that will be published by Sarabande Books.
A Resident Assistant Professor of creative writing at Creighton University,
Mullins is a graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop whose work has appeared in
The Yale Review, The Massachusetts Review, New England Review, and elsewhere. He has twice been nominated for the Pushcart Prize.
