RENEE HALVERSON
read her first romance novel between her sophomore and junior year at Florida State University.
Hooked from page one, she spent hours consuming book after book while working on the best (and last) tan
of her life. She jotted down a few notes for her first novel, while considering a major in English. Instead,
the notes went into a drawer and she graduated with a BS in Economics.
Armed with her degree, she explored various career opportunities at a theme park resort in Florida, a modeling
agency, a cosmetic conglomerate, and a marketing firm. In 1997, after several years of teaching high school,
her husband said to her, "When are you going to stop talking about writing that novel and just write it?"
Ever since that fateful day, Renee has seriously pursued her dream of writing romance novels. Active in Romance
Writers of America, she is now a full time writer. Renee lives with the same supportive husband, Mark, and their
two children, Daniel and Hillary.
She is the author of Extreme Measures (Leisure Books, 2002), winner of the Dorchester New Historical Voice Contest.
