GARY GABELHOUSE
was born in 1951 in Lincoln, graduating from Lincoln High School and receiving
his Bachelor's Degree in Biology Education from the University of Nebraska in 1972.
He attended the Cotner School of Religion, becoming an associate pastor at Epworth
United Methodist Church. Later he did graduate work at the University of Minnesota
at Mankato. Post-graduate work took Gabelhouse to Kenya to test the feasibility of
staging National Outdoor Leadership Schools expeditions to East Africa.
He has led climbing expeditions in Africa, South America, Europe (Alps), Asia,
and throughout North America and lived for long periods in Kenya, trekking
throughout game reserves and the bush. A leader of five expeditions to Mt
Kenya, he was nominated to The Explorers Club in 1986.
He is the CEO of an international media research firm and
the author of
Dreams of the N'dorobo: Mystery, Murder, and Mysticism in the Shadows of Africa and of
Prophets Reborn (Greyhound Books),
a regional best seller that has been optioned for TV movie and serial rights.
It was also published in the Czech Republic and was #7 in adult fiction.
He lives in his hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska, with his wife and daughter.
