Poet FIDEL FAJARDO-ACOSTA is the author of two collections of poetry, The Serpent in the Mirror (Edwin Mellen, 1992) and Memory of Spring. He has also published several books and articles of literary analysis. Born and raised in Mexico, he attended Colby College in Waterville, Maine, graduating in 1982 with a degree in Economics-Mathematics. In 1985 he received his M.F.A. in Poetry from the Iowa Writers' Workshop and, in 1985, a PhD in Comparative Literature at the University of Iowa. He has taught at California State University in Los Angeles and is now an Associate Professor in the Creighton English Department and Director of the World Literature Program.
