Fiction writer EVETTA ANDERSSON grew up in Missouri but now lives in Omaha. She graduated from the University of Nebraska — Omaha's Writer's Workshop and has studied at the Ploughshares Fiction Conference in the Netherlands. In 1995 she won the Fiction Prize at the State University of New York — Stony Brook. She is also the winner of the Cornell Fiction Prize (2000), where she is completing her MFA. She has worked as a fashion model, a carriage driver, and a hot walker. A two-time winner of the national championship in the North American Trail-Riding Competition, she has also trained jumping mules.
