SUSAN STRAYER (also published as Susan Strayer Deal) is a poet living in Lincoln, though she was born in Gothenburg, attending college at North Platte (now Midplains College) and Kearney State. She holds the MA in creative writing from the University of Nebraska — Lincoln. Her books include No Moving Parts, The Dark is a Door, The Shape of Herself, and more. Between 1980 and 1984, she lived in Davenport, Iowa, and taught creative writing at Blackhawk, at Augustana, and at St Ambrose. She has also taught freshman English at UNL.
