Born in 1906 in Clarkson, Nebraska, OLGA FOLDA STEPANEK was a teacher of English as a Second Language for many years at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She was also an accomplished writer of fiction, published in the early issues of Prairie Schooner. In addition, she was an artist, working mostly with found objects, and winner the Lincoln-Lancaster Women's Commission Woman Arts of the Year Award for Visual Arts in 1987. She died on September 19, 1998 in Brooklin, Maine, with her family in attendance. |
