Poet JOHN MCKERNAN is the author of Resurrection of the Dust (The Backwaters Press). An Omaha native, he has published in hundreds of magazines, including The New Yorker, Paris Review, Poet Lore, Atlantic Monthly, New York Quarterly, Ironwood, Kalliope, Prairie Schooner, The Ohio Review, Tar River Poetry, etc. He taught English for many years at Marshall University until his retirement. He is a recipient of grants from both both the NEA and the NEH and has won numerous other grants and awards both for his teaching and his poetry. |
