Profession:  English Teacher Lincoln High School 1984-Present

I am fortunate to have experienced the rich diversity of Lincoln High School in my twenty-five years of teaching.  I have increased the enrollment in Creative Writing and Advanced Creative Writing from one section to five or more every semester, and successfully direct all aspects of the Lincoln High School Scribe literary journal.  My students write individual original books and participate in coffee house readings at The Mill, Barnes and Noble and other locations in the Lincoln community and twice yearly hold a Poetry Festival with Lincoln East High School.  We also read to deepen our tastes and to emulate style and craft.  I am a flexible member of an English department because I have the strengths to teach many things, though my passion is teaching writing.  It is my goal to provide a challenging, warm, and enthusiastic school environment so students may find themselves a part of my class, not on the outside.  Described as innovative with a dedicated work ethic, I believe there are many ways to learn.  Furthering my own education has given me a world of experience and pleasure, and I love creating a variety of opportunities students can teach and strengthen one another.  My classroom is a positive, welcome place to be.
