SUMMER WRITING WORKSHOPS
Creighton Young Writers' Workshop
Creighton University will hold its second Young Writers' Workshop this
summer in its historic Creighton House. This year there will be two
workshops — a one-day workshop for 7th-9th graders (June 9th) and
the three-day workshop for high school juniors (June 10th-12th) Both
workshops will cover poetry and fiction, depending on the student's
interest, and will provide intense, exciting, and productive
experiences. First-rate writers and teachers will guide workshop
participants through the
writing process in workshops and one-on-one conferences.
Fort Kearny Writers' Conference
Join Charles Fort, Susanne K George, Robert Hill Long, and Mary Clearman
Blew July 12-16 for group and private workshop sessions. Conference
participants receive a one-on-one critique of
their work with an accomplished professional writer, and there are
opportunities to network
with other writers during the course of the week.
Mari Sandoz Young Writers' Workshop
Four published authors (Bill Clemente, Twyla Hansen, David Martin, and
Karen Shoemaker) will be in residence all week (June 6-12, 1999) at
Chadron State College, offering young writers group information and
one-on-one writing assistance, along with an interesting set of field
trips.
