The Nebraska Book Awards!


The Nebraska Book Awards, sponsored by the Nebraska Center for the Book, recognizes and honors books that are written by Nebraska authors, are published by Nebraska publishers, are set in Nebraska, or relate to Nebraska.
The competition is open to Nebraska authors, Nebraska publishers, and other authors or publishers of books set in or relating to Nebraska. To be eligible, the book must be:

  • Published in 2001 as indicated by the copyright date.
  • Published professionally and assigned an ISBN
  • Bound (no loose leaf)
  • Written by a Nebraska or Nebraska-related author or Published by a Nebraska publisher or
  • Have a Nebraska theme or setting

Enter in one or more of the follow categories:

  • Nonfiction
  • Children/Young Adult
  • Fiction
  • Cover Design/Illustrations
  • Poetry

An entry fee of $40 per book per category is required.

The winners in each category will be presented with a distinctive certificate. The winning books will be displayed at the annual Nebraska Book Festival and be presented to the Governor for the Mansion's permanent collection. Notices will be sent to the media and winners will be entitled to display award stickers on their book covers.

Award winners will be announced and presented at the Nebraska Center for the Book's Annual Book Festival in the fall of 2002.

Deadline for entries is June 30, 2002.

Enter now by printing out and filling in the entry form below and mailing it with three copies of your book and the entry fee to the address indicated.
