Poet and fiction writer LUCILLE ROY HEWITSON has published four novels, three collections of her own poetry, and two academic texts. She is the incoming Chair of the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures Creighton University. She holds two PhD degrees, one from the University of Bordeaux and the second from the University of Montreal, as well as a DU (Doctorat d'Universite) from the University of Strasbourg. She served for almost thirty years on the faculty of Dawson College in Montreal, where she was also for a short time Dean of Arts, Letters, and Social Sciences. She has held academic appointments at the University of Miami and at McGill University. Her doctoral work addressed Quebecois literature and the poetry of Anne Hebert.
