SHERRIE FLICK received a Masters Degree from University of Nebraska — Lincoln in 1996. Flume Press recently published I Call This Flirting, her chapbook of short-short fiction, which won the 2003-04 Flume Press Fiction Chapbook Award. Her short fiction has been published in numerous literary journals, including Black Warrior Review, North American Review, Quarterly West, Prairie Schooner, and Puerto del Sol. She has received fellowships from the Sewanee Writers' Conference, the Ucross Foundation, and the Atlantic Center for the Arts. She lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she is artistic director of the Gist Street Reading series (http://www.giststreet.org). Stories appear in Writers in the Gardens (Pittsburgh: City of Asylum Press, 2007); Flash Fiction Forward (Norton, 2006), Eds Robert Shapard and James Thomas; New Sudden Fiction (Norton, 2007), Eds Robert Shapard and James Thomas; and You Have Time for This (Ooligan, 2007), Eds Tom Hazuka and Mark Budman. She received a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Fellowship in 2007. Her first novel, Reconsidering Happiness, is coming out in Fall 2009 with University of Nebraska Press.
