This year will mark the eleventh Fort Kearny Summer Writers' Conference,
which will feature workshops in the writing of poetry and fiction.
The conference is designed for the beginner as well as the
advanced writer. Students will attend specialized workhops in their chosen
area and panel discussions on the creative process, publishing, and performance.
In addition, students will have the opportunity for individual conferences with the
professional writers and participation in the reading of creative works.
The poetry workshop includes discussion of finding subjects to write about,
revision, observation, and metaphor. The Fiction Workshop includes discussion of
dialogue, point-of-view, characters, short story, and the novel.
The deadline for applications is June 24, 2002.
