DAVID MARTIN, who teaches English at Central High School in Omaha, is a strong proponent of journal writing and the editor of Fine Lines Journal, a national quarterly for writers that publishes "writers of all ages and abilities, prose and poetry, fiction and non-fiction, all topics allowed if written in good taste." He was educated at the University of Nebraska — Omaha and at the University of Nebraska — Lincoln. His writing has appeared in the Omaha World-Herald, Satorion, Kids Magazine, and elsewhere. In addition to his writing, editing, and teaching, he has served as President of the Nebraska Council of Teachers of English. His special interests include Loren Eiseley and John Steinbeck.
