Poet MELISSA F BEERY is a former editor and reviewer for Nebraska Territory and is co-founder of Broken Bottle Press, which publishes the literary magazine The Three Legged Cat (copies available at $4.00 each, which includes shipping and handling). A new edition of the magazine will be coming out in August, 2007. Shortly after, the magazine will be accepting submissions with a focus on new and emerging Nebraska Writers. Her work has been published in Plains Song Review, where she received the award for best undergraduate work in 2002. She has also been published in the Minnesota River Review and in the anthology Times of Sorrow, Times of Grace (Backwaters Press). She received her PharmD in Pharmacy from Creighton's School of Pharmacy and Health Professions in May of 2006, but is pursing a career in teaching and writing instead. |
