Here's to three Nebraska poets whose recently published books have been drawing
lots of attention and well-deserved praise.
The much-awaited reprint of State Poet William Kloefkorn's
Alvin Turner as Farmer
is just out from Logan House Press. First published in 1972, the book was an
instant success but, until now, has been unavailable for many years.
Poet Barbara Schmitz, described by Paul Zarzyski as "the Lucinda Williams of the poetry
world," has published a new collection called
How Much Our Dancing Has Improved,
just out from Backwaters Press.
And also just out from
Backwaters is Steve Langan's Notes on Exile and Other Poems
, winner of the Weldon Kees Award.
