Agee's latest, a powerful
collection of new and selected stories from
Coffee House Press, is filled with stories that startle with
passionate insight and graceful prose.
She writes about characters who are afflicted with love,
overwhelmed by desire, and unable to keep from crossing the line.
Publishers Weekly describes the
collection as "terse, edgy and explosive," praising her
"flair for stunning conceits and turn-on-a-dime plotting."
Funny, profound, and breathtakingly beautiful stories by a
contemporary master.
Jonis Agee, a Nebraska native, is the author of ten books,
including four novels and five collections of stories.
Winner of an NEA fellowship, the Loft-McNight Award of Distinction,
and the Nebraska Book Award, Agee has been singled out for praise
by The New York Times, which honored three of her books as
Notable Books of the Year.
She is a Professor or English at the University of Nebraska Lincoln.
